Flash 8 brings some exciting new features for editing text inside the flash player. There is a new font rendering engine (FlashType) that makes small fonts look amazingly clear and greatly improves readability. Now you can justify text in paragraphs, change letter spacing and render with kerning.

Apart from adding those features, new version of Flash Text Editor has even more. Each control displays completely customizable tool-tip when mouse pointer is over it. You can turn undo option and set the number of undo levels. Also, most of the standard text editing tools like find, replace, cut, copy etc. are added.

Overall performance of component is improved and together with faster string parsing of Flash 8, the component can now handle bigger amounts of text.

Because Flash gives a possibility to work with any font attached, unique possibilities are exposed for editing text on the web.Img tag problems still remain, but component was built with number of workarounds to avoid them. Please test it thoroughly if you are interested in purchasing.
